CULLMAN, Ala. – The North Alabama Agriplex was honored Friday evening in Prattville by being named 2022 Conservation Educator of the Year by the Alabama Wildlife Federation (AFW). The Agriplex was nominated by Rev. James Fields and April Waltz.

Agriplex Director Rachel Dawsey shared, “We appreciate our partnership with the Alabama Wildlife Federation Outdoor Classroom program since about 2015. Their infrastructure and support have enabled us to create and sustain the outdoor classroom gardens in our schools and community. We are thankful for our educators and volunteers who make this all possible.”

Over the past decade, the Agriplex has celebrated the area’s agricultural heritage by paying homage to Cullman’s farming history and by diligently educating younger generations through outdoor classrooms at area schools, onsite summer camps and various programming throughout the year for all ages.

The AWF is the oldest and largest nonprofit conservation organization in Alabama. It was established by sportsmen in 1935 to promote the conservation and wise use of our wildlife and natural resources and to ensure a high quality of life for future generations of Alabamians.
