CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Public Library hosts Storytime each Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. and this week, Ms. Suhana was in attendance once again to teach the preschool class about letters. Several stations were set up at four different tables for children, to allow them each their own creative space.

These stations consisted of letter puzzles, tracing, crayons and paper for children to draw, and handwriting cards. While these skills may seem too advanced for ages 1-4, the children took much interest in the activities and practicing while Ms. Suhana sang the “ABC” song.

Librarian Shannon Berse shared on Ms. Suhana’s consistent time spent with, and efforts for the children, saying, “She is always just so amazing and interactive with the kids. We have had so many wonderful programs this month for them, and I just can’t wait for more. They love to play but that’s also how they learn.”

The library also hosted a pumpkin decorating contest, which was recently judged by Alabama State Senator Garlan Gudger, assisted by Ben Johnson, not pictured.

Some of the children illustrated their pumpkins with a favorite book character. Shannon Berse, Cullman County Public Library’s Children’s Director, is shown with Senator Gudger, and coordinated this fun activity for the local children of the library.

Decorated pumpkins are on display now for the public to enjoy.

The Cullman County Public Library is open Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. It is located at 200 Clark Street NE and can be reached via telephone at 256-734-1068, or email at cullmanpubliclibrary@gmail.com.
