WEST POINT, Ala.- West Point Mayor Gerald Schafer at Monday night’s council meeting reported that part of the striping on County Road 1141 has been done at a cost of just more than $11,400.

“Maybe in a few months we can do the other part,” said Schafer. “It will be about $8,000.”

The Town used the county bid list for the striping work.

The council’s agenda was short, with no new business.

Schafer asked the council to decide on whether to purchase a new mower and backpack blower.

The council approved the purchase of both pieces of equipment from Gravely for $10,096.85. Schafer said he is in the process of getting prices for a new weedeater, but no decisions were made regarding that purchase.

The West Point Town Council meets on the third Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at West Point Town Hall.
