Doyle “Gus” Raphael Lowry died peacefully at his home Thursday morning, Feb. 18, 2021. The son of Harry Raymond Lowry and Grace Estelle Phillips Lowry, he was born May 15, 1935.
Gus graduated from Cullman High School and attended St. Bernard College while working with his father and brother Buford in the family business, Lowry Implement Company.
Gus is a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, serving as Elder.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Harry Buford Lowry (Jo Ann), Clifford Aubrey Lowry (Wynema), and Dalton Douglas Lowry.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Cora England Lowry; sons Steven Craig Lowry and John Langston Lowry (Katharyn); grandson John Louis Lowry; and sister-law Louise Smith McCool Lowry.
Private funeral services will be held at First Presbyterian Church Sunday, Feb. 21 at 2 p.m.
