GOOD HOPE, Ala. – The Good Hope City Council agreed Monday night to draft a resolution to be voted on at its next meeting regarding an agreement with the City of Cullman about an as-yet-unnamed development along County Road 222. The agreement hinges on the City of Good Hope being able to provide sewer services; however, until Good Hope can extend its sewer lines, the City of Cullman has offered to allow the development to tie on to its system.

“All they (the City of Cullman) need from us tonight is a thumbs up before they do anymore work,” said Good Hope Mayor Jerry Bartlett. “They just want to make sure we are in agreement that we want the option to tie on to their system.”

The council said a small pump station will also be needed but at the business owner’s expense.

Bartlett estimated that it will take at least a year once building out of the sewer system begins for work to be completed. He said he hopes to make an official announcement in the coming weeks to reveal the new business.
