BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Share the magic of the season while supporting Children’s of Alabama by purchasing holiday greeting cards from the HeART of Children’s of Alabama greeting card program.

The unique artwork featured on each card is designed and created by patients at Children’s of Alabama. Pricing starts at just under $1 per card, and several customization options give these distinctive cards a personal touch. Along with updated holiday artwork for the 2020 season, new this year is a 2021 calendar featuring artwork from patients each month. Customers may also choose to designate funding to various departments at Children’s of Alabama.

“One great aspect of the card program is that donors can designate the department or unit at Children’s that will receive the donation from their card purchase,” said Angela Scott, community development coordinator at Children’s of Alabama. “Each year, many departments at Children’s receive funding from the card program. If someone chooses not to designate a department for their donation to benefit, it will benefit our child life program.”

Child Life is vital to the patient experience at Children’s. Child Life specialists work with patients to explain procedures in terms children can understand, provide activities to distract patients from procedures and give patients a much-needed break and a small amount of normalcy while in the hospital.

The card program began in 2010 and has grown from a seasonal to a year-round greeting card program. Proceeds from the cards have raised more than $50,000 for programs and services at Children’s. The HeART of Children’s cards are sponsored by Solutions Infusions Therapy and printed by Flex Digital. Cards can be purchased online at
