HOLLY POND, Ala. – At the Alabama Lamb Producers Association’s East Alabama Invitational Saturday, Holly Pond Middle School eighth grader Evan Roden, son of Holly Pond High School Agriscience teacher Rusty Roden, won Champion White-Faced Ewe Lamb and Reserve Champion Overall Market Lamb.

Proud dad Rusty Roden told The Tribune, “That’s what he loves to do: he loves showing the lambs. We went to Denver last year, and we’re planning on probably going to some other big show this year.”

He continued, “Showing lambs is the number one thing he enjoys doing. He enjoys the competition, he enjoys the friendships, probably the friendships he’s made- not only in Alabama but all in other states- the connection with those kids is cool.”

Let The Tribune know if you hear about area students excelling in school or outside, in academics, in community service, in individual or team competition with or without cleats!
