ARAB, Ala. – Thanks to Josh Gaddis and Chris Sivley, founders of Hometown 2 Go, food delivery will be readily available for Arab and surrounding areas.

“We will cover Arab, Joppa and parts of Baileyton and Union Grove,” said Gaddis, who also shared what inspired the pair to launch the service.

“This was mostly inspired by personal experiences using DoorDash and similar services,” he said. “We believed we could bring this convenient service to our hometown of Arab but do it just a little better than the others. The COVID-19 pandemic inspired us to roll it out sooner so customers and restaurant owners could take advantage of the benefits when it is needed the most.”

Gaddis said some hometown favorites have signed on to participate.

“Milner’s Dairy Delight, Midas Burger, Sierra’s Mexican Restaurant, Hog Leg BBQ, The Funky Feather, and Town & Country, just to name a few,” he said.

Customers inside Hometown 2 Go’s service range (4 miles) will be charged a flat $4 delivery fee, and Gaddis noted, “We have a flat rate for our standard delivery and then a premium charge of no more than $3 for orders outside that standard range.”

As to the timeline on the launch of the mobile app, he said, “We tested Apple last weekend. We’re testing Android this weekend. We plan to roll out full scale next Friday on Sept. 11.”

As far as health precautions, Gaddis said, “We are sealing orders in the restaurant before leaving, and it will not be opened until the order arrives. Customers have the option to choose a contactless delivery. Drivers are also wearing masks. Both founders are ServSafe certified as instructors and proctors.”
