GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. – Citizens Bank & Trust is pleased to announce the addition of Laura Kay Kappler-Roberts to its Board of Directors.

Kappler-Roberts is president and CEO of Kappler, Inc., a global leader in chemical and biohazard protective fabrics and apparel based in Guntersville.

Kappler-Roberts joined Kappler in 1997 following college graduation, but her history with the company started much earlier. She grew up in the business founded by her father, George Kappler, and always planned to return to the family operation and pursue a career in manufacturing.

Kappler-Roberts took the reins as president and CEO of Kappler in 2015. Over a 20-year career with the company, she has worked in virtually every area of the operation, starting as a cost engineer followed by several years in each major department.

In addition to serving in professional organizations, Kappler-Roberts is currently a member of the Guntersville City School Board. She is also active in civic and community efforts ranging from student workforce development initiatives and membership in the Lake Guntersville Rotary Club.

A magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Alabama, Kappler-Roberts earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Operations & Systems Management. She and her husband, Patrick Roberts, have two sons, Jacob and Joseph.

Citizens Bank & Trust President and CEO Charlie Williams said, “As our bank continues to grow and evolve, we continue to focus on how successfully we address the banking and financial needs of the communities we serve. Because of this, we are truly pleased to have Laura join our Board and support our bank team. Her experience, engagement and her leadership in both her community and at Kappler were all part of a skill set we recognized that could add to what we already felt was a high-quality Board of Directors. We are confident that her views and perspectives, along with her manufacturing and leadership talents, will not only be additive to the bank going forward, but will also assist us with shaping the efforts of the bank through time. I think it is safe to say that we are both living, and banking, in challenging times … economically, socially, politically and even from a life and health standpoint. Laura understands and fits all of the core values we aspire to exhibit within the bank, and will bring new insights and energy not only to the Board, but to our bank as a whole. We could not be happier and more honored to have her join the Citizens Bank & Trust Board of Directors and our bank team.”
