Geraldine Holley, 99, of Haleyville, entered into rest on December 30, 2018 at Lakeland Community Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Holley was born on August 28, 1919, in Tishomingo, Mississippi. She was a lifelong member of Haleyville First United Methodist Church and enjoyed attending circle meetings with her church family. Geraldine's hobbies included gardening, cooking, and sewing. She was known as "Nanny" to her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Brother Mitch Nethery will officiate. Burial will follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville, Alabama.
Geraldine is survived by her son, Tommy Holley; grandchildren, Paul Holley and his wife Susan, Jimmy Holley, Brent Holley; great-grandchildren, Becca Stults, Makayla Kelly, Makenzie Holley, Jeremy Holley; great-great-grandchildren, Holly Grace Stults, John Waid Stults, Rainey Holley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurston "Dutch" Holley; granddaughter, Lesia Holley; parents, Charles and Carrie Holley; and 8 brothers and sisters.
