CULLMAN – Applications are being accepted now for the 2018 fall session of the popular Cullman County Sheriff’s Office Citizens' Academy. The academy is a nine-week course and is free to the public; however, class size is limited.
The fall session will begin on Tuesday, Aug. 28. Classes will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6-9 p.m.
Academy students will learn about virtually every aspect of a deputy’s job, including patrol, administration, dispatch, communications, criminal law, SWAT, crime scene investigation, jail operations and more. Activities will include a SWAT team demonstration, tour of the Cullman County Detention Center, a morning at the shooting range, ride-alongs with deputies and many classroom speakers.
