HANCEVILLE – On June 19, Hanceville’s former downtown eatery C-Street Cafe will re-open its doors as Bulldogs Country Cook’n.  Welcome Back Hanceville co-owner Nolan Bradford, who is helping lead the city’s downtown revitalization effort, has taken charge of the eatery, and will have it open for breakfast and lunch on Tuesday.

For former C-Street patrons, said Bradford, “It’ll be the same but different!  We’re going to have some of the same menu items. Our old cook is coming back: Charlene Jones.  So we’ll have some of the same menu items, with some new stuff on the menu that we’ll rotate on a larger scale than we did before.  So it won’t be every Tuesday you’ll have the same thing; it’ll be a variety of things.

“(There will be) lots of new items on the menu that weren’t there before: onion rings, poppers, fried pickles, chicken biscuits, things like that, that everybody else has that we didn’t have before–that C-Street didn’t have before.”

Bradford continued, “We’ve totally remodeled the dining room and the kitchen to have more space.  We’ve got nine more people that we can seat outside, so far. If we go booths later on, which I hope to, we can probably get another five or six more out of that.  I think right now we’re at 42 seats as opposed to 34 before.

“It’s just a meat-and-three, sandwiches, steak night every Friday night like it was before; Saturday night surprise, which will be anywhere from seafood, Mexican, Italian, fried chicken–just whatever suits our fancy to do at the time, sort of like a Saturday night meal.”

Welcome Back Hanceville owns multiple downtown Hanceville properties housing businesses like Bulldogs Country Cook’n, Just Repurposed, Too You-nique and Outbreak Games.
