BLOUNTSVILLE – J.B. Pennington found the end zone in all forms as the Tigers took down the Holly Pond Broncos 48-20 following a close first half.

The Tigers took advantage early as J.B. Pennington scored on its opening drive, taking a quick 7-0 lead with 8:20 remaining in the first quarter. Roughly six minutes later the Broncos took it into the end zone, but a missed PAT had the team trailing the Tigers, 7-6.

Less than a minute later J.B. Pennington found its way down the field to regain the lead at 14-6 with 1:30 left in the first quarter.

As the second quarter began the Broncos found themselves back in an offensive mindset, taking the ball in for a quick six before tacking on the 2-point conversion, as the Broncos tied the game at 14 all.

However, the Tigers would not be down for long as they converted on a long 30-yard play for a touchdown and added the 2-point conversion to give J.B. Pennington a 22-14 lead and from that point on it was all J.B. Pennington.

The third quarter ended with the Tigers up 36-14.

Final score: J.B. Pennington 48, Holly Pond 20

Holly Pond travels to Susan Moore on Friday.
