BIRMINGHAM – McDonald’s of Central Alabama has announced the third year of its successful McDonald’s McBackpack Giveaway. Over two weekends, July 27-29 and August 4-5, 17 participating McDonald’s restaurants will give out a total of 3,400 backpacks to local students in an effort to support education and prepare for the new school year. In the Cullman area, a total of 400 backpacks will be given away, 200 each at two locations.

  • Cullman: 1425 Second Ave. SW, Cullman
  • Hanceville: 740 Main Street, Hanceville

The backpacks will contain school supplies items such as pencils, crayons, paper, a ruler, a folder, and more. There will be one grand prize backpack at each individual location with extra supplies and McDonald’s items that will be given out at random.

The backpacks will be given on a first come, first serve basis to students accompanied by a guardian or parent. McDonald’s owner/operators will be on hand at their particular locations to hand out backpacks and meet the students in their local communities.
