CULLMAN COUNTY – Holly Pond and Vinemont High Schools recently chartered Anchor Clubs, under the leadership of the Pilot Club of Cullman, joining more than 8,000 Anchor members across the world. Pilot Club leaders recruit youth members through the establishment of Anchor Clubs in local middle and high school public and private systems. As a part of Pilot International, Cullman Pilots provide financial and hands-on support for initiatives focusing on Anchor Clubs (Youth Development & Leadership), Brain Safety and Fitness and Caring for Families in Times of Need. Youth Development & Leadership is a primary focus area which teaches youth how to lead with a service minded heart to “do more, care more and be more” with in-school activities and projects. Anchor Clubs provide training in leadership skills, becoming better citizens, developing integrity and responsibility and identifying needs of others.  Developing these skills will improve opportunities for scholarships, college and careers.

The Pilot Club of Cullman is the local sponsoring organization for Anchor Clubs. Prospective Anchor Advisors or members may contact Rebecca Branch, president, at 256-734-7557 to receive assistance in organizing a club in middle or high schools.   For additional information visit the website www.anchor.club.org.
