Multiple fires throughout county has Sheriff Gentry asking residents to refrain from burning

CULLMAN – With high winds, warm weather and a lack of rain, firefighters throughout Cullman County are currently fighting brush fires associated with residents burning trash or brush.

"With conditions the way they are, we are asking residents to please refrain from burning anything at this time," said Sheriff Matt Gentry.

Fires in Bug Tussle, Dodge City and Bremen are just a few firefighters have faced today.

Sheriff Gentry said there have been no reported injuries or loss of homes at this time.

"We just ask everyone to refrain from burning. We thank you for the cooperation," he said.
