CULLMAN – Fall is here and that means your fashion will need to be up to speed with the fast approaching weather changes. Boutiques such as Bessie Mae, Bella Faire, Natural Selections and What a Girl Wants are already prepared for the fall season and are getting in new merchandise daily to please the avid and trendy shoppers.

Tammy Love, the owner and operator of Bessie Mae, looks forward to meeting new customers and providing them with their fashion needs for this fall. One of their newest lines of clothing for the cool weather is called, “Oh My Gauze.”

“This is casual wear for the sophisticated lady,” Tammy said. It’s a versatile line for all ages that brings a flowy top and loose pant together to make for a comfortable yet classy look.

For those that love vintage wear, Bessie Mae carries the line, “Blue Blue.” It’s an elegant look that is great for special occasions such as your family-get-together at Thanksgiving.

Bessie Mae’s number one seller is jewelry. Their unique selection will absolutely accessorize your autumn outfits.

Bella Faire owner and operator, Tracy Smith, is excited and prepared for all the new fall trends.

“We’re going to see a lot of fringe, bell bottoms and tribal print,” Tracy said. She already has bell bottom pants ordered and on their way to the store.

Tracy also mentioned to look out for over-the-knee boots worn with tights as well as a lot of oxfords. Jackets, shawls, headbands, ponchos, dress extenders and chunky gold and silver jewelry are all portions of the popular layered look this season.

Store associate Rhonda from Natural Selections said, “We feel fall fashion this year will be leggings and flowy tops.”

She also said that boots will mostly be military or combat style while vests, scarves, headbands, and detailed items with lace and velvet will contribute to the hippie vibe.

The most popular items at Natural Selections are tunic dresses and printed leggings. Colors to look for are purple and eggplant, but also neutrals such as tans and browns that go with everything.

Tammie, owner and operator of Natural Selections said, “We’re a boot community.” Boots will always need to be a part of your wardrobe for the chilly weather, so make sure you’ve got a pair that goes with everything.

Rita Dean, the owner and operator of What a Girl Wants, emphasized that the ankle boot is big right now and it happens to be her favorite item. Its versatility makes it a staple item because it looks great with leggings, skinny jeans and dresses. The most popular item right now is a cardigan with fringe. It can dress up jeans and boots or compliment a Sunday outfit.

Oversize sweaters and tassels on jewelry will also be featured items for this fall. A new look to try out this season is winter shorts worn with blazers, high heels, ankle boots and even riding boots. Be sure to check out her line of Big Star Jeans, which were featured in InStyle magazine and Lauren James, which she carries exclusively in the Cullman area.

Rita said, “My philosophy is to not be a trend follower, but to be a trendsetter.” She emphasized her point with, “Wear what makes you feel beautiful.”

Look forward to fun and fashion while various boutiques participate in the Oktoberfest fashion show on October 5, as well as the Hops & Shops fashion show on October 9.
