Peggy Jean Mauricio, 83, of Cullman, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2015 surrounded by her family at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Seventh Street Baptist Church. Brother Kerry Cleghorn will be officiating; her body will lie in state starting at 1 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Visitation was Tuesday night from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home. She will be buried next to her husband, Benito, in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Peggy was born in Birmingham, Alabama, on June 2, 1932, the middle child of William Conrad Martin and Helen Eugenia Martin, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Benito A. Mauricio, as well as her sister Katherine Heinl and brother William Conrad "Bill" Martin, Jr.

Peggy is survived by her daughters Inga (Don) Johnson and Dolores (Ron) Dingler; her granddaughter Melissa (Adam) Warnke, and grandsons Jordan Johnson and James Dingler; as well as Jimmy (Patricia) Johnson and Stacey (Bud) Richardson; and several great-grandchildren.

She was a faithful member of Seventh Street Baptist Church in Cullman. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seventh Street Baptist Church or as a tribute donation in her honor to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
