Retired Addison Police Chief Ellis Donald Baker killed in motorcycle wreck

ADDISON, Ala. – Retired Addison Police Chief Ellis Donald Baker, 63, was killed in a motorcycle wreck in Dunlap, Tennessee Monday, June 3.

According to ABC News Channel 9 in Chattanooga, “A report from Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) says a truck was heading north on US Highway 27 when he tried to make a left turn – right in front of a motorcycle headed in the opposite direction.

“The THP says Ellis Donald Baker of Addison, Alabama was pronounced dead on scene.”

The Addison Police Department posted to its page:

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of retired Chief Ellis Donald Baker. Chief Baker was involved in a motorcycle vs. pick-up accident in Dunlap Tn on 6/3/2019 while returning home to Addison. We ask for prayers for his girlfriend as she is in critical condition in a Chattanooga hospital. We ask to also keep his son and Moulton Police Officer Casey Baker in your thoughts and prayers. Chief Baker was a beloved part of the community and will be missed by many. Chief Baker had retired From the Addison Police Department at the end of March 2017.”
