BREMEN, Ala. — Cold Springs built a 13-point halftime lead and held off Lamar County for a 32-20 home victory Friday.
The Eagles opened a 7-0 lead before the Bulldogs closed the gap to 7-6 by the end of the first quarter.
Cold Springs pulled away in the second, adding 12 unanswered points to take a 19-6 advantage into halftime. Neither team scored in the third quarter, leaving the Eagles with the same cushion entering the fourth.
Lamar County trimmed the deficit to 19-12 in the final period. Cold Springs added 13 fourth-quarter points, while the Bulldogs scored 14, leaving the Eagles with a 12-point margin at the finish.
Cold Springs entered Friday with a 2-0 record after shutout victories over Vinemont, 9-0, and Locust Fork, 42-0.
The Eagles are scheduled to travel to Cleveland on Friday, Sept. 18, for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
