BREMEN, Ala. – Ryans Creek Baptist Church will welcome vehicle enthusiasts and families Saturday, Aug. 29, for its fifth annual car show, a free community event featuring trophies, more than 50 door prizes, children’s activities and a barbecue lunch.
The show was originally scheduled for July 25 but was postponed because of significant rain in the forecast.
The rescheduled event will be held at Ryans Creek Baptist Church, located at 24849 County Road 222 in Bremen. Admission and vehicle registration are free, although donations will be accepted for the church’s food pantry.
Vehicle setup may begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by registration from 8-9. The first 25 participants to register will receive goodie bags.
Judging will take place from 9-10, with the awards presentation scheduled from 10:30-11. A free barbecue lunch will be served beginning at 11, and the show will continue through lunch.
More than 50 door prizes will be awarded throughout the event, with a prize given approximately every 15 minutes. Everyone attending the show will be eligible for the drawings.
The church thanked the businesses and individuals contributing to the door-prize lineup: Tri Green Jasper, Fine Home Inspection, Strong Lands, O’Reilly, The Grille at Trident Marina, Basch Brothers Powersports, Bill Smith GMC, J&D Auto Service, Recreation & Performance Motorsports, Kennith and Kathy Fine, Hot Rods & Harleys, Carquest, Pops BBQ, Fredericks Outdoors, Lazarus Development, Smith Lake Gifts & Outdoors, Half Shell Oyster House, Tri Green Cullman, Van’s Sporting Goods, Advance Auto Parts, Village Furniture, Traditions Bank, Peoples Bank, Doug Doggett Jewelers, Wheeles & Garmon Attorneys at Law, Cahaba Energy Solutions, Caldwell Crossings Dentistry and Alabama Power.
Twelve trophies will be presented, including Best of Show, three Top 3 awards, Just Because, Kids’ Choice, People’s Choice, Furthest Traveled, Best Motorcycle, Best Truck, Best Jeep and Best Rat Rod.
The event is open to cars, trucks, Jeeps, rat rods and motorcycles.
Activities for children will include a slide, face painting, a bounce house and balloons. Arley First Baptist Church’s ice cream truck is also scheduled to be there.
The car show is part of Ryans Creek Baptist Church’s Outdoor Ministry and is intended to provide an opportunity for fellowship, community outreach and friendly competition among vehicle owners.
The Tribune covered the church’s inaugural car show in 2022, when muscle cars, classic cruisers and motorcycles filled the church parking lot. Rather than charging an entry fee, the church collected food donations to support its pantry and help families in the surrounding community.
That inaugural event also featured goodie bags, prizes donated by area businesses, activities for children and food for participants and visitors. The church has continued that community-focused approach as the show has grown into an annual event.
“We look forward to meeting you and seeing your car,” the church said.
