CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman City Schools “continues to demonstrate what is possible when resilient students, supportive families and dedicated educators work together toward a common goal: helping every student succeed,” the school said in a statement Friday, Aug. 14.

Recently released results from the Alabama State Department of Education show that Cullman City Schools remains among the highest-performing school systems in Alabama on the 2025–26 Alabama Comprehensive Assessment Program (ACAP). “The results provide an opportunity not only to celebrate student achievement, but also to recognize the people and partnerships that make that achievement possible.”

Across all three major academic areas, Cullman City Schools ranked among the top 10 school systems in the state.

  • In English Language Arts, 83.5% of Cullman City students scored proficient or advanced, ranking the school system fourth in Alabama.
  • In Mathematics, 62.5% of students scored proficient or advanced, placing Cullman City ninth in Alabama.
  • In Science, 75.6% of students scored proficient or advanced, ranking Cullman City fifth in Alabama.

Said the system:

“Those numbers are certainly worth celebrating. But behind every percentage is a student who worked hard, a family that provided encouragement and support and an employee who showed up each day committed to making a difference.

“Cullman City students deserve tremendous recognition for their resilience, perseverance and willingness to rise to the challenges placed before them. Assessments measure academic performance, but they do not fully capture the determination, curiosity and personal growth that students demonstrate throughout a school year.

“Families also play an essential role. Parents and guardians are our students’ first and most important teachers, and their encouragement, partnership and support make a tremendous difference. Strong schools are built on strong relationships between educators and families, and Cullman City is fortunate to have families who believe deeply in the importance of education.

“Most of all, however, these results are a reflection of the dedicated employees of Cullman City Schools.”
