Billy Woody was born on November 11, 1934, in Cullman, AL; and lived there for most of his life in the Valley Grove Community. He passed away on July 12, 2026, at the age of 91, while residing in Fayetteville, TN, and leaves behind a life marked by steady devotion, quiet courage, and the kind of love that stays with a family long after words run out. To those who knew him, Billy was beloved not for grand speeches, but for the consistent ways he showed up—loyal, thoughtful, and generous with his time, his hands, and his heart.
In his youth, Billy served in the United States Army, carrying forward a brave, resilient spirit that never sought attention, only purpose. That same hard-working determination shaped his years as a machinist with National Screw & Manufacturing Company, where he focused on manufacturing Nicholson Files. He took pride in honest work done well, and his wisdom often came through in simple, practical ways—an example that quietly inspired others.
Billy was a family man, and he took deep pride in being a devoted husband, father, and friend—steady in his care, loyal in his love, and thoughtful in the ways that mattered most. Even in ordinary moments, there was warmth and humor in him, the kind that could ease a day and make people feel at home.
Billy faced many challenges, but despite all his trials and heartbreaks, he never lost his faith. He continued to thank the Lord for what he had been given. Billy was a proud member of Valley Grove Church of Christ, a place that reflected the values he lived by: devotion, steadiness, and care for others.
