HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Hanceville will celebrate America 250 on Saturday, July 25, and the city needs your help to make it an unforgettable success.

From noon-9 p.m. that day, C.W. Day Park will be transformed into a bustling hub of patriotism, family fun and community spirit for the Hanceville America 250 Community Celebration. Organizing a milestone event of this scale takes a village, and the City of Hanceville is officially calling on dedicated community members to step up and volunteer.

Whether you’re looking to give back, earn community service hours or simply be at the heart of the action, there is a role for everyone.

Where help is needed

Volunteers are the engine that will keep this celebration running smoothly. The city is looking for assistance in a variety of areas, including:

  • Family and fun zones: Supervise and bring joy to the Kid Zone and Chalk Zone (operating under the direction of a city employee supervisor)
  • Logistics: Assist with vendor check-in and staffing the main information table
  • General operations: Provide general event support throughout the day, evening support and assist with the crucial post-event cleanup

Volunteer requirements

To ensure a safe, welcoming and organized environment for all attendees, the city has established a few basic guidelines for volunteers:

  • Age limit: Volunteers must be at least 16 years old
  • For teens (Ages 16-17): A parent or guardian’s information and signature are required
  • Documentation: All applicants must complete an official volunteer sign-up form and provide a copy of a valid photo ID
  • Safety first: All volunteers must strictly adhere to the City’s event safety rules

How to sign up

Don’t wait until the last minute! The official deadline to submit your volunteer form is Friday, July 17, 2026. While late submissions might be considered if additional help is required, early registration ensures you get your preferred slot.

Volunteer forms are available now at city hall.
