Cullman County 4th of July and America 250 events guide

CULLMAN, Ala. – As we approach the Fourth of July we often think of hotdogs, hamburgers, swimming, fireworks and anything red, white and blue. Though this year is special! Saturday, July 4, 2026, marks the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Many of the usual Fourth of July celebrations will include America 250 themes. 

The Cullman Tribune has compiled a guide to Fourth of July and America 250 events planned across Cullman County and the surrounding area.  

Details are based on public event information, flyers and organizer announcements available at the time of publication.  

Some events did not list specific rules for coolers, pets, alcohol, outside fireworks or age restrictions, so guests are encouraged to confirm those details with organizers before attending. 

Wednesday, July 1 

Mary Carter Store Stars and Stripes Customer Appreciation Celebration 

Mary Carter Store will celebrate 62 years in the community with its Stars and Stripes Customer Appreciation Celebration on Wednesday, July 1, from 4:30-6 p.m. at the store, 104 Fourth St. SE in Cullman. 

The celebration will honor the history of the store and the country. Guests will be served hot dogs, drinks and snacks, and longtime customers and community members are invited to share their fondest Mary Carter memories. 

Friday, July 3 

Minute Man Statue Dedication 

Cullman250 will host a Minute Man Statue Dedication on Friday, July 3, at 10 a.m. at Sportsman Lake Park in Cullman. 

The public event will dedicate the Minute Man statue at the park as part of Cullman’s America 250 observances.  

3Sixty Jeep Club Red, White & Cruise 

Red, White & Cruise will be held Friday, July 3, beginning at 4 p.m. at Cornerstone Revival Center, 3151 Alabama Highway 69 N in Cullman. 

The event will include family fun, food, a cruise-in and fireworks. The event is listed as free. 

Faith, Family & Freedom Fest 

Southside Baptist Church will host Faith, Family & Freedom Fest on Friday, July 3, from 6-9 p.m. at the church, 2003 Main Ave. SW in Cullman. 

The event will celebrate 250 years of freedom and will include fireworks, free food and inflatables. 

Good Hope Faith, Family, Freedom & Fireworks 

Good Hope will host Faith, Family, Freedom & Fireworks on Friday, July 3, at 135 Municipal Drive in Cullman. 

The event begins at 7 p.m. with horse flag presentations, followed by fireworks at 9.  

Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.  

Fairview Freedom Celebration 

The annual Fairview Freedom Celebration will be held Friday, July 3, at Fairview Community Park. 

The event will include singing at 8 p.m. and fireworks at 9. Admission is free, and guests are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket. 

The event is sponsored by local businesses and churches.  

Saturday, July 4 

Smith Lake Park Fourth of July Fireworks Festival 

Smith Lake Park will host its Fourth of July Fireworks Festival on Saturday, July 4, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. at Smith Lake Park, 403 County Road 386 in Cullman. 

Admission is $5 per person or $20 per car, cash only. The day will include live music, vendors, food and family activities. Camping and swimming are also available. 

The schedule includes More Cowbell from 2:30-3:30 p.m., a golf cart parade at 3:30, The Connection from 4-5, a water balloon toss at 5, Albert Simpson from 5:30-7:15, Taylor Hicks from 7:45-9 and fireworks at 9. 

Guests should bring cash for admission and confirm park-specific rules before bringing coolers, pets or personal fireworks. 

4th of July Jeep Invasion – America’s Block Party 

JG’s Campen Life will host its 4th of July Jeep Invasion and America’s Block Party on Saturday, July 4, beginning at 2 p.m. at 2060 County Road 438 in Cullman. 

Admission is free for campground guests and $5 for general admission. The schedule includes Jeep contest lineup at 2 p.m., a Rubber Duck Charity Race benefiting Cullman Caring for Kids at 3, Jeep judging and awards at 4:30, live music from Brett Carlisle & The Moonshine Profits at 6 and fireworks at dusk. 

Guests are allowed to bring lawn chairs, blankets and coolers. The event also says guests may bring their own fireworks, but fireworks will be safely launched by staff, meaning guests should not plan to set them off on their own. No age restrictions were listed. 

Sunday, July 5 

South Vinemont Annual Fourth of July Celebration 

The Town of South Vinemont and Vinemont Baptist Church will host the annual Fourth of July Celebration on Sunday, July 5, at the Vinemont Sports Complex, 266 Park Drive in Cullman. 

Gates open at 6 p.m., and the fireworks show starts at 9. The celebration will mark America’s 250th birthday and 65 years since South Vinemont’s incorporation. 

Planned activities include food, a kids’ play zone, fireworks and Touch-a-Truck with public safety vehicles.  

Friday, July 10 

2nd Fridays Cullman: America 250 

The Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce will continue its 2nd Fridays Cullman summer series Friday, July 10, with an America 250-themed event in downtown Cullman. 

The event begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Depot Park and Warehouse District and is sponsored by Visit Cullman. 2nd Fridays Cullman brings the community downtown for local food, live entertainment, late shopping and a family-friendly atmosphere. 

Sunday, July 12 

Celebrate America’s 250th with AFP-AL: Cullman 

Americans for Prosperity-Alabama will host Celebrate America’s 250th with AFP-AL: Cullman on Sunday, July 12, at AMC Marktplatz 10, 1950 Marktplatz Center SW in Cullman. 

The event begins at 2 p.m., with check-in beginning at 1. Attendees will view the matinee showing of “Young Washington,” a film about George Washington before he became the Father of the Nation. 

The event listing says a free movie ticket, popcorn and drink are included, but seats are limited and advanced registration is required. The film is rated PG-13.  

Saturday, July 25 

Hanceville America 250 Community Celebration 

Hanceville will host its America 250 Community Celebration on Saturday, July 25, from noon-9 p.m. at C.W. Day Park on Park Road in Hanceville. 

Admission is free. The event will include food trucks, vendors, live music, Touch-A-Truck, a kids’ zone, games, free pool access and fireworks at 8:45. 

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and the whole family.  

Nearby regional event 

Blountsville America 250 Celebration 

The Blountsville America 250 Celebration will be held Friday, July 3, at Blountsville Town Park. 

Activities begin at 2:50 p.m. and continue through the fireworks finale. The event includes $2.50 pool entry, a classic car and tractor show, watermelon eating contest, cannonball contest, patriotic hairdo contest, free popcorn and fireworks. 

Guests may bring coolers, chairs and picnic blankets. Alcohol is not allowed. Contest participants must register on site and sign a waiver. Participation may be limited due to available space.
