CULLMAN, Ala. – Heirlooms Fine & Performing Arts will host Once Upon a Crown Princess Camp July 21-24, from 9 a.m.-noon at Heirlooms Studio.

The camp gives young girls a chance to enjoy princess-themed activities while building confidence, creativity and character. The camp is for girls ages 4 to 11. It mixes imaginative play with lessons about kindness, self-confidence and personal growth.

Founder Paige Clabo said the camp was made to help young girls feel special and to give older students in the organization a chance to perform.

“At Heirlooms, we believe every young girl deserves to feel seen, celebrated and empowered,” Clabo said. “Once Upon a Crown Princess Camp was created to blend the magic of princess dreams with lessons about confidence, kindness and character.”

Camp activities include meeting princesses, making crafts, storytime, tea parties and interactive lessons led by student performers dressed as favorite princess characters. Girls are encouraged to wear princess outfits all week and will join a special crowning ceremony at the end of camp.

Clabo said it is meant to mean more than just fairy-tale fun.

“We want them to understand that being a princess isn’t about a crown. It’s about how you treat others, how you carry yourself and how you use your gifts to make a positive difference,” she said.

Heirlooms Studio is located at 1219 Second Ave. NW in Cullman. The cost is $179 per camper.

Clabo said money from the camp will help support Heirlooms’ upcoming production of “Frozen: The Musical” and keep offering performing arts opportunities for local children.

You can find registration information through Heirlooms Fine & Performing Arts. Parents can also meet some of the princess performers at Cullman’s Second Fridays event in July.
