State of Education: Students, teachers honored

CULLMAN, Ala. – Multiple students and educators were honored at the 2026 State of Education Breakfast community breakfast hosted by the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce on Friday, April 24.

“We were honored to host our recent State of Education Community Breakfast, bringing together educators, students, and community leaders to celebrate the impact of education in Cullman,” the Chamber said in a statement. “We were proud to award scholarships to outstanding students and honor teachers for their dedication, leadership, and commitment to shaping the next generation.”

  • Jacob Chaviers – Wallace State Student of the Year

Cullman County Teachers of the Year

  • Lauren Bentley – Elementary
  • Mary Lauren Hartline – Secondary

Cullman City Teachers of the Year

  • Lacy Cameron – Elementary
  • Michelle Greenlee – Secondary

Wallace State Teacher of the Year
