CULLMAN, Ala. – The 3Sixty Jeep Club will host Jeep Night at Rock N Roll Sushi on Saturday, April 25, at 5 p.m. At 8, according to the club, “…we light it up and roll out for our Autism Night Ride.”
Dedicated Member Adam Walden said, “In our club, the board asks for suggestions from our members on which charity they would like us to donate to. The main reason for this is due to the growing need for help and or comfort. Most of the time the charity of choice is due to someone or several persons who have either been directly affected or know someone who has been affected by a particular situation. In this case this particular ride is to help spread awareness for Autism. For a few of our members, myself included… this one hits home for me.”
3Sixty Jeep Club is a nonprofit organization and supports different causes. Walden said his grandson Zeke, 4, was diagnosed with Autism last year — so this ride really resonates.
“There are a few others that have loved ones who suffer from this same terrible disease that are all over the range in the spectrum,” Walden said. “So to say 3Sixty has a special bond to the people of this community… this is how they accomplish this so very often.”
He said the purpose of Autism Night Ride is twofold. One, to let members, families and friends know they are not alone in the fight. Two, to spread awareness. “More and more children are being diagnosed with every day.”
Walden said the night ride is a fun, safe way to not only put Jeeps on the road, but also to have a good time.
“We get to fellowship with other Jeepers while telling them and anyone who asks about Autism awareness,” he said. “We usually take our members and anyone else that would like to go ride in a Jeep through various backroads and national forestry roads with our colorful lights on to have a good time and most of all let the children enjoy the colors and the Jeeps.
“Currently right now Alabama has a 1% of the entire state in which children are affected. 3Sixty Jeep Club is simply about family, friends, community and servanthood to those in need by way of the Jeep. It is a great group of people that focus on helping anyone they can with the slogan of ‘Offering a hand up not just a handout.’”
