HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce will host the State of Education community breakfast Friday, April 24, from 9-11 a.m. at the Bailey Center on the campus of Wallace State Community College. Panelists will be WSCC President Dr. Vicki Karolewics, Cullman County Schools Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette and Cullman City Schools Superintendent Kyle Kallhoff, and student and teacher award winners will be recognized.
Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce Director of Programs & Governmental Affairs Ryleigh Solomon said events like this remind her that the future of our community is bright.
“When we take the time to recognize these students, we are celebrating their achievements and reminding them that our community believes in them,” Soloman said. “My favorite part of this event is seeing the smiling faces of each student as they walk across the stage and receive their award and medal. I especially love seeing the overall winner receive their scholarship and stand with the big check. Seeing their excitement makes all the hard work worth it.”
Solomon said a lot of collaboration goes into creating and having a successful event like the State of Education community breakfast.
“We work with sponsors and the different school systems to make sure these students are properly celebrated,” Solomon said. “This event is all about creating an environment that reflects the importance of this recognition. We’ll proudly recognize outstanding achievements in education, including honoring our Teacher of the Year and awarding scholarships to deserving local students.”
