CULLMAN, Ala. – The ribbon was officially cut on Katie B. Kirkwood Architectural and Interior Design, a residential design studio in downtown Cullman, on Friday, April 10.
Said the Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce: “Katie B. Kirkwood Architecture brings a thoughtful, creative approach to design, offering services that blend functionality with beautiful, intentional spaces. Her work reflects a strong attention to detail and a passion for helping clients bring their vision to life.”
Kirkwood thanked her husband, saying, “His patience, support and encouragement is why we’re standing here. Because of my husband and the life y’all gave us, we also get to give that to our children. And now the community, so we’re super excited about that.”
She continued, “I love creating beautiful things! We kinda do everything.”
Kirkwood said she typically meets with homeowners and contractors to walk their sites. This opens up a path for her design process and layout.
“We can design from scratch!” she said. “I’ve had clients say they want 8-foot doors and let me do the rest. Some clients come in with multiple plans and want to combine them.”
Kirkwood said she believes a home should be a reflection of what you love. Whether that is carefully layered decor or sentimental items incorporated from loved ones.
She made a point to thank her in-laws for showing herself and her husband a strong work ethic and how to serve others. “Now we get to do that and teach our children the same thing,” she said.
Katie B. Kirkwood Architectural and Interior Design is located at 221 Third Ave. SE. It is open Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays are reserved for appointments only and the business is closed on weekends.
