Wintford Leon Haynes, age 87, of Cullman, Alabama passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2025. Wintford was born in AL.
Wintford most recently served as Missionary Service Corps Missionary, Campers on Mission and Disaster Relief, State of Alabama SMORT Team and Cullman Law Enforcement Chaplain
Winford has also Served as Bivocational Minister of Music for 21 years and pastor for 15 years. Served with the North American Mission Board for 12 years as MSC Missionary. Organized Alabama Campers on Mission and served as president from 1972-1978. Served in volunteer Missions in 41 states plus Crew Chief for World Changers. Served in Association as Chairman of Youth Retreat Committee, Mission Committee, Mission Work Trip Committee, R.A. Director, World Mission Conference Director, Personal Committee, Associational Council, and Disaster Relief Coordinator. Served as President of Alabama Bivocational Ministers Fellowship. Now serving on the State Lay Renewal, Experiencing God Weekend Team, and Law Enforcement Chaplain with Cullman Police Department and Cullman County Sheriff Department. He had a Ministry “Laugh with Wintford” doing Christian Humorist/Musician.
Retired from Liberty National Life Insurance Co. after 31 years on July 20, 1997.
Wintford is survived by his wife, Martha Haynes; his daughters Miranda Lecroy(Mark), Monica Sheffield(Arter) & Melanie Krebs(Dale), his grandchildren Jesse Smith, Jason Smith,Charles Lovelady, Micah Krebs, Amy Politano, Heather Sexton, Jonathan Krebs Zackary Krebs, Markeyerra Krebs, Maniya Krebs and Nevaeh Krebs and his great grandchildren Miles, Ryan, Kaiden, Kristina, Noah, Benson, Jaxson Karson, and Jasper.
Wintford was preceded in death by his granddaughters Marissa Lovelady & Caitlin Kreds.
A visitation for Wintford will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service will be held Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel. A graveside committal service will Follow at Cullman City Cemetery, 9th St SW, Cullman, AL 35055.
