Obituary: Kathaleen Gable Price

Kathaleen G. Bice passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, at the age of 94.

Born on February 13, 1931, Kathaleen touched countless lives with her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit. She faithfully served for many years as the secretary at Holly Pond High School, where generations of students and their children came to know and love her. Her caring nature, servant’s heart, and ever-present smile left a lasting impact on everyone who walked through those doors.

She was affectionately known as Mom, Mawmaw, KatKat, Too Do, and Ms. Bice. No matter what name you called her, she was always the same; selfless, loving, and full of grace. She had a contagious smile and a heart that put others before herself in every season of life. She was the sweetest mom, grandmother, aunt, and friend, a true gem to all who knew her.

Kathaleen also devoted many faithful years of service to her church, Duck River Baptist Church, where she worshiped and served with unwavering faith and quiet strength.

Kathaleen is survived by her son David Bice; her grandchildren Cole Bice & Hilary Nix(Josh), her great grandchildren Harrison, Hayden & Hadlee Nix, her nieces Judy Reid(Donald), Joyce Boyd & Annette Phillips, her nephews Roger & Terry Stewart and her special friend Teresa Reid(James) & Rachel Daugherty(Staten).

Kathaleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Claude Bice; her son Bruce Patrick Bice; her parents Claude & Ida B. Gable; her brothers Oliver, Oree, Cortez & Earnesteen Gable.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Kathaleen will be held Friday, August 1, 2025, 1 p.m. at Duck River Baptist Church, Rev. Jonathan Reid Officiating. followed by a graveside Service at Duck River Baptist Church cemetery, 1027 Co Rd 775, Cullman, AL 35055. Her family will receive friends Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Moss-Service Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers are Doug Duke, Randall Henderson, Tony Elrod, Nathan Fendley, Harold Carr & Sam Calvert. Honorary pallbearers Junior Rogers & Darell Hicks.

Kathaleen’s legacy of love, faith, and gentle strength will forever be carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will be a blessing.
