CULLMAN, Ala. – A Hartselle woman was killed, and five other people were injured, in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 3 p.m. Sunday, July 6, on County Road 222 near County Road 351 in Cullman County.

Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Cynthia Ruth Baker Reeves, 55. Troopers said she was fatally injured when the 2005 Chevrolet Impala she was driving collided head-on with the 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Shawn P. Bagwell, 39, of Cullman. They said Reeves was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Troopers said Bagwell was injured and was transported by air to UAB Hospital. They said other passengers of the Silverado — a 14-year-old, a 13-year-old, an 11-year-old and an 8-year-old — were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash occurred approximately 1 mile south of Crane Hill.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
