CULLMAN, Ala. – Do you need a bookish itinerary this fall? Arboreadum Bookshop and Garden will hold Audiobook Walks every Saturday throughout the month of October. The walks will begin at 8 a.m. at the bookshop.
No purchase is necessary. Participants will share with each other what they are listening to before the walks begin. All are welcome to chat at the bookshop afterward and discuss their books and other recommendations.
Owner Shannen Cottingham stated that this will continue into November, weather permitting.
She gave fall reading recommendations based on favorites of the readers at Arboreadum.
- “Trust Fall” by Lynn Painter, young adult, romantic-comedy novel that features an enemies-to-lovers trope
- “The Witch” by Freida McFadden, a psychological thriller that follows a dual-timeline set in rural Massachusetts
- “The Unselected Journals of Emma M Lion” by Beth Brower, an eight-part series that consists of witty, intelligent diary entries that tell the story of a young orphan
The bookshop will also be holding several author signings and other book clubs.
On Saturday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. Heather Morris, author of “Backyard Stew” will be presenting her novel for author storytime and holding a signing afterward.
The following week, the Arboreadum will host Show & Tell Book Club on Thursday, Oct. 22 at 5:45 p.m. The book club theme is “A Book That Haunts You.” Bring a book that you can’t get over or that, literally, haunts you!
Arboreadum Bookshop and Garden is located on 104 Fourth Ave. NE, Cullman. It is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
