VINEMONT, Ala. – Meek closed Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Fairview and was crowned champion of the Vinemont Tournament.
The Lady Tigers finished 4-2 across six matches, recording three straight-set victories during their run to the title.
Meek defeated Hayden 2-0, Westminster Christian Academy 2-1 and Florence 2-0. The Lady Tigers’ two losses came against Fairview, 2-0, and Cold Springs, 2-1.
Meek earned another opportunity against Fairview in its final match and reversed the earlier result with a 2-0 victory to secure the tournament championship.
The successful tournament run improved Meek to 17-14 this season.
Fairview finished 3-3 during the tournament and reached the championship match after earning victories over Meek, Vinemont and Westminster Christian Academy.
The Lady Aggies defeated Meek 2-0, Vinemont 2-0 and Westminster Christian Academy 2-0. Fairview fell to Cold Springs 2-0 and Florence 2-0 before dropping its rematch with Meek.
Fairview finished the weekend with a 13-6 record.
Vinemont went 3-2 during its tournament. The Lady Eagles defeated Dora, Falkville and Westminster Christian Academy by identical 2-0 scores.
Vinemont’s losses came against Fairview and Hayden, both in straight sets. The Lady Eagles moved to 14-8 following the tournament.
Cold Springs completed its tournament schedule with a 2-2 record.
The Lady Eagles swept Fairview 2-0 and defeated eventual champion Meek 2-1. Cold Springs lost 2-0 to Westminster Christian Academy and Florence and finished the weekend at 7-8.

Meek will return home Tuesday to face Addison in a Class 1A Area 13 match. Vinemont will visit Holly Pond on Tuesday in Class 3A Area 10 play.
