FAIRVIEW, Ala. – The Fairview Senior Center hosted its first Car & Craft Show Aug. 29, at Randall Shedd Park. Senior Center Manager Angie Carter said they were excited about the turnout.
“We were very thankful for the great weather we had on Saturday and the support we received from the community,” Carter said. “We had 22 vendors on-site and 34 car show entries.”
She said the participation and fun were memorable.
“Everyone seemed to have had a good time, (especially the men talking about the motors in some of the cars and trucks,)” Carter said. “The children and adults enjoyed the ice cream truck on-site. Their name is Little Something Extra Ice Cream and they were a very special group to have at any event.”

- Seniors’ Pick – Don Stewart, 1956 Chevy Bel Air
- Directors’ Pick – Danny Tucker, 1937 Chevrolet
- Best Car – Emmett Marra, 1967 Chevy Nova
- Best Truck – Jim McCracken, 1960 Chevy S-10
- Best Bike – Ed Smith, 1971 Harley Davidson
- Best Interior – Colton Ryan, 1955 Chevy Bel Air
- Best Paint – Rhonda Carr, 1957 Mustang convertible
“Thank you to everyone who bought a vehicle to the event; they were all fantastic rides,” Carter said. “A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our first Car & Craft event at Fairview. The Fairview Senior Center appreciates all of you – from our craft vendors, car show owners, food trucks and those who came and purchased from our vendors. We also appreciate the Town of Fairview for allowing us to use the Randall Shedd Park for this event.”
The Fairview Lions Club will host its annual Labor Day celebration on Sept. 7, featuring a parade, car show, craft booths and live music. That event will also take place at the park. (www.cullmantribune.com/2026/08/25/fairview-lions-club-labor-day-celebration-returns-sept-7)
