Funeral service for Robert Gerald Hardin, 88, of Vinemont will be at 4 p.m., Thursday, September 3rd, 2026 at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Cullman Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Robert Gerald Hardin, who peacefully departed this world in his sleep on August 29, 2026, at the age of 88.
Gerald was born on June 5, 1938, in Cullman, Alabama, to loving parents, O.B. and Eura Hardin.Gerald was a man of deep faith and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. An active member of Cornerstone Nazarene Church, he found joy and purpose in his community, living a life that reflected his values and beliefs. He spent a lot of his time at singings with The Inspirations in the smokies and even helped drive their bus around the United States. His warmth and kindness touched all who knew him, leaving a legacy of love and compassion.
Throughout his life, Gerald was predeceased by many cherished family members, including his parents, O.B. and Eura Hardin; his beloved wives, Ima Jean Ray Hardin and Edna B. Hardin; brothers, O.N. Hardin and Harold Hardin; sister-in-law, Jessie Hardin; brother-in-law, Willie Joe Ray; great-grandson, Robert Walter Gable; son-in-law, Craig Hughes; stepson, Jerry McBrayer; and stepdaughters, Patricia Brown and Sylvia Tyson.
Gerald leaves behind a devoted family who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts. He is survived by his daughters, Lavonda Hughes and Paula (Rick) Barnett; his grandchildren, Wesley (Candi) Still and LaShane Haynes; his great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn (Devin) Gable and Darius Taylor; and two great-great-grandchildren, Skylee and Stetson Nickelson. Sister in laws, Norma Wrenn and Margaret Hardin. his stepsons, Dale McBrayer and Mark McBrayer; his step-grandchildren, Eric Barnett, Jamie (John) Hobson, Laura Hughes, and Clay (Katie) Hughes; He is also fondly remembered by his loyal canine companion, Cocoa.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Comfort Care Hospice and Cullman Funeral Home for their compassionate care and support during this difficult time.
Robert Gerald Hardin’s life was a testament to love and service, and he will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say goodbye, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and enduring faith.
