HOLLY POND, Ala. – The Holly Pond Fire Department will host the fifth annual Day in the Park event on Saturday, Aug. 1, from 5-8 p.m. at Governors Park.
Fire Chief Mike Harrison said this event is important for the community because it’s an opportunity to meet the local fire department and cadets.
“The Cadets is a program for 14-21 year olds interested in learning more about the fire department,” Harrison said. “We will have free hot dogs supplied by Temple Baptist Fairview, free drinks from Pepsi and free bags of school supplies. There will also be train rides, bouncy houses and other events for the kids. We will also have Sweet Addictions there as a vendor.”
In the event of inclement weather, the event will move to the fire station.
“We will have some of our fire trucks there, including a new tanker for people to see,” Harrison said. “The tanker was delivered earlier this month and gives us the ability to bring 3,400 gallons of water to the scene. It will be an asset to not only Holly Pond, but also Cullman and the surrounding counties.”
