FAIRVIEW, Ala. – A young Fairview woman recently published her first book after years of working to finish it. Samantha Sprouse said “In the Spot Light Mysteries’ is a book about three women traveling for work, who somehow get wrapped up in a mystery.

“In eighth grade, my teacher Kimberly Williams challenged me and my classmates to write a short story,” Sprouse said. “This is where the idea started, but once I finished the short story, my creative imagination wandered down the rabbit hole to ‘what came next for Lucy and Eve.’ Through the different trips I’ve taken with my family, I was able to write in full detail on the places mentioned in the book.”

For years she has been writing and editing the story, Sprouse shared.

“I started working with WestBow Press on Dec.18, 2025, and I published my book on June 7, 2026,” she said. “I am most excited about finally getting to share my book with friends and family. Also, for other readers looking for a clean mystery book to enjoy.”

For anyone who has a dream, Sprouse encouraged: “Go for it!”

“Take the steps you need to make the dream possible,” she said. “Surround yourself with people who will encourage and pray for you along the way!”

Sprouse’s book can currently be purchased for $15 at Branch Books or the Arboreadum Bookshop and Garden in Cullman.
