As we enter spring and summer we prepare for the many festivals. The highlight of these events, among games and food, are the booths! Vendors line walkways displaying many intricate crafts and more.

These events are growing, allowing space for more vendors than ever. Have you stopped to look at these booths and wondered how you can display your own items? I will be listing a few popular items to consider!

Crochet

As local thrifts put out sweaters in the winter months, you can snag a few of the items past their time and unravel the yarn to reuse! By the time you build up your supplies, winter will come to an end and you can work toward shop inventory. With crochet or knitted items the possibilities are endless: handbags, headbands, coin purses, stuffed animals, book covers, drink koozies, car charms, etc.

Woodburned art

Whether it’s woodburned ornaments, signs, cutting boards or even jewelry, this selection is very popular. It offers a rustic, but natural spin on decor. You can even upcycle wooden furniture to be woodburned – such as side tables and so on.

Cosmetics

There is a demand for all-natural products such as balms, lotions and soaps made locally and with safe, natural ingredients. For people with skin sensitivities these products are absolute gems.

Thrift finds

Thrifting popularity has been on the rise due to overzealous resellers, though for some it holds great possibilities. Repurposed thrifted items offer uniqueness to pieces viewed as “unsalvageable.”

Your inventory can also be thrifted treasures as a whole. Quilts, trinkets, clothes or decorations can add a very intriguing element to your booth! Styling these items with your other inventory provides a great picture for customers.

Seasonal

Consider the upcoming seasons! If you’re in the spring/summer months consider custom sunglasses and hats! The Fourth of July is around the corner? Think of stars and stripes T-shirts, door hangers, baby onesies, tumblers and maybe car decals! The list goes on and on.

The main things that people notice when shopping at festivals are the vendors themselves! Be loud and proud! What you are passionate about is the greatest seller.
