“It was in their bulletin last week.” — That’s all the information the editor of The Tribune could give his fellow Rotarians about Dr. Fagan Thompson being a new member of the Kiwanis Club here. And curious to know if the new Methodist minister had become a Cullman Kiwanian the Tribune editor asked him on Wednesday afternoon about his civic club status. In reply Dr. Thompson stated that he had visited each of the local organizations, Rotary and Kiwanis, in recent weeks but, as yet had not joined either of them.

This week of vacation was fun for the Cullman City School pupils who had known when they were dismissed for the holidays December 21st that they would have a couple of weeks. However, it was double excitement for all the County School System’s pupils who were expecting to return to classes January 2. The extra holidays were granted by Superintendent R. E. Moore because of the impassibility of some roads over which the school buses have to travel and the vast amount of illness still prevalent in the county. All schools are scheduled to open again on Monday, January 7th.
