CULLMAN, Ala. – A Bremen woman as been charged with trafficking fentanyl. The Cullman Police Department said Kayla N. Graham, 32, was arrested Friday, Dec. 5.
The CPD said Officer Chad Ashworth initiated a traffic stop near U.S. Highway 31 South and Sheraton Road Southwest, and Officers Daniel Brown and Jake Eiland responded to assist. During the stop, officers allegedly discovered illegal narcotics and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle.
Both occupants were taken into custody. Graham, the passenger, is charged with trafficking (fentanyl), unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver, Amanda Walker, 44, of Salem, Alabama, is charged with unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
“This case reflects the proactive patrol work and attentiveness of Officer Ashworth, Officer Brown and Officer Eiland,” the CPD said. “Their alert actions and teamwork resulted in the removal of dangerous narcotics from our community, reinforcing the Cullman Police Department’s ongoing commitment to public safety.”
Said Police Chief Joey Duncan, “Stops like this demonstrate the value of proactive policing and the continued effort our officers put forward every day to keep our streets safe.”
