Mary B. Alleman age 85 of Cullman, Alabama, passed away November 17, 2025. She was born July 3, 1940, in Pennsylvania.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years Clair G. Alleman; parents Harry E. and Mary E. Book; sisters Eva Walker and Geraldine Felmlee; and brothers Harry R. Book Jr., John E. Book, Galen S. Book, and Thaddeus J. Book. She is survived by her daughters Debra L. (Joe) Gillis and Pamela S. (Charles) Clayton; and grandchildren Zachary J. Clayton and Harrison B. Gillis.
Mary was a strong willed and creative woman. She always knew what she wanted and it was said that “Mary did as Mary pleased.” She was a seamstress for over 15 years. Mary went on to take up cross-stitching as a hobby, and she often gave her cross-stitch projects as gifts. She loved dogs and always had one throughout the years. Mary was a devoted member of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Toney, AL for two decades. In later years, she joined Cullman First Church of the Nazarene.
A visitation will be held for Mary in the Moss Service Funeral Home chapel Monday, November 24, 2025, starting at 4 p.m. with the service to follow starting at 5 p.m. Mary will be laid to rest in Huntsville Memory Gardens Tuesday November 25, 2025, at 11 a.m.
