PREP CHEER: 3 local squads win state titles

The Cullman High School Varsity, Addison High School Varsity and Cullman High School Junior Varsity cheerleading teams brough home 2025 AHSAA State Cheerleading Competition titles this week. (Cullman County Cheer Club, Addison Varsity Cheer)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The 2025 AHSAA State Cheerleading Competition took place inside Bill Harris Arena in Birmingham, on Monday and Wednesday, Nov. 10 and Nov. 12, with three local teams bringing home state titles.  

In the Varsity Traditional Division, Cullman High School topped 6A, while Addison High School bested the 1A competition in the Varsity Game Day Division. In the Junior Varsity Game Day Division, Cullman High School’s JV squad took home the hardware.  

Varsity Traditional Division 

  • Cullman High School – 6A State Champions (Score: 79.20) 
  • Holly Pond High School – 3A 3rd place (Score: 65.00) 

Varsity Game Day Division 

  • Addison High School – 1A State Champions (Score: 88.90) 
  • Hanceville – 3A 8th place (Score: 83.80) 
  • Holly Pond – 3A 12th place (Score: 81.70) 
  • Vinemont – 3A 16th place (Score: 79.40) 
  • Good Hope – 4A 14th place  (Score: 78.20) 
  • West Point – 5A 9th place (Score: 81.90) 
  • Cullman – 6A 3rd place (Score: 90.60) 

Junior High Game Day – Small Division 

  • Good Hope Middle School – 8th place (Score: 74.00) 

Junior High – Small Division 

  • Good Hope Middle School – 3rd place (Score: 59.40) 

Junior Varsity – Large Division 

  • Cullman High School JV – 2nd place (Score: 74.30) 

Junior Varsity – Game Day Division 

  • Cullman High School JV – State Champions (Score: 92.00)
