Vinemont, R. 2 Oct. 30—Digging potatoes and going to school is the order of the day.
We are sorry to report that Mrs. Ida Holmes is still confined to her room with a cold.
A large crowd attended the boxsupper at Enon Saturday night, the proceeds were splendid.
Almer Merrill called on Miss Ludy Holmes Sunday afternoon.
Miss Lorene Holmes has returned home after spending several weeks with her grandmother and uncle, R. Burks of Birmingham.
Gurtis Hall spent last Sunday with Jewel Colley.
Gomer and Fritz Holmes made a business trip to Birmingham last Monday.
Alvin Ergle, Robert and Donald Holmes and other attended the singing at Flint Sunday afternoon and reported a good singing.
Mary Brown was the Sunday dinner guest of Lorene Holmes.
Mrs. Flora Holmes and Mrs. Oaka Holmes and little daughter visited Mrs. Walker Holmes Sunday afternoon.
The social entertainment at J. R. Holmes Friday night was enjoyed by quite a crowd.
Miss Loren Clemons visited Miss Leva Holmes Sunday afternoon.

Mrs. Marjon Hill left Wednesday for Akron, Ohio, where she will visit her husband.
Mr. and Mrs. Grady Oaks returned to their home in Akron, Ohio, after spending a few days with their parents, Mrs. Mildred Oaks and Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Sherill.
Mrs. Dewey Hill and little daughter, Melba, visited Mrs. Ida Mae Hill Friday.
Mrs. Ross Sellers is on the sick list.
Mr. and Mrs. Holman Green are the proud parents of a little daughter, born Oct. 26.
Mildred Bright, mother and Charlie Smith of Eva, called on Misses Velma Nix and Velda Dell Bright Saturday night.

HOLLY POND, Oct. 31—Our boys played a good game of ball against Joe Bradley last Saturday, but were defeated 6-0. They expect to play Hayden there next week.
Mrs. Clara Nunnelly visited the school last Tuesday in interest of the anti-tuberculosis association.
Mr. and Mrs. Webb spent last Tuesday at school in the interest of a curtain for the new auditorium.
Wednesday Mr. Laminack state supervisor of vocational agriculture, Miss Katherine Forney, state supervisor of vocational home economics, Mr. R. E. Moore and Mr. J. W. Walton visited the school.
Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Hall and children spent Saturday night and Sunday in Fairview.
Allen Hyatt and Earney Shaw attended the game in Birmingham Saturday.
Miss Bess Callahan spent Saturday in Birmingham shopping.
Marshall Bailey and Miss Vireese Kilgore were married Saturday evening, also Walter Taylor and Miss Vanie Haynes.
Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gibbs and family moved to Ranburne, Ala., this community hates to give them up and will miss them greatly.
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Buckner and family returned last Friday from Prattville where he was called because of the death of his father.
Mr. and Mrs. Will Hammock and daughters spent last Sunday with Mrs. C. M. Crutchfield.
Miss Marion Hinton carried Mr. and Mrs. John Sanford and family and Miss Estelle Coppock to Tuscaloosa Saturday. They brought Ethridge Sanford back with them. The community is glad to have him at home again.
