VINEMONT, Ala. – The Town of South Vinemont and Vinemont Baptist Church will host the fourth annual 4th of July Celebration on Sunday, July 6, at the Vinemont Sports Complex. Gates open at 7 p.m. with the fireworks show scheduled to begin at 9. The event is free for all attendees.
“Four years in, our event stands as a testament to progress,” shared Kayecea Sasser, clerk for the Town of South Vinemont. “Each iteration has not only expanded our horizons but has also deepened our commitment to our community. We have made adjustments each year even with our budget and timing. We hope that each year we grow and can offer more things in the future.”
This year’s event will include free hot dogs, chips and drinks provided by the Town, as well as shaved ice available for purchase from Fro’z Shaved Ice. Additionally, there will be an outdoor play zone featuring giant yard games, such as Connect Four and Toss Across as well as other activities for kids to enjoy.
The fireworks display, organized by Vinemont Baptist Church, will serve as the main attraction of the evening. The church also contributes fresh produce from its community garden, which will be given away for free during the event.
“We are very thankful for a local church to be so involved in the community,” Sasser added.
When asked why families should consider attending, Sasser said, “This event is free (except for the shaved ice) and it also offers a great way for loved ones to gather this Independence Day and witness the magic of community, as we celebrate not just our nation’s freedom, but the joy of togetherness that defines us — Vinemont.”
