Cullman County Schools announces Jennings, Strane as new principals

CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman County Schools Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette is recommending Jyme Jennings as the next principal of Good Hope High School and Robert Strane as the next principal of Welti Elementary School.

Jennings will assume the role at Good Hope High, replacing Scott Brown, who is retiring. Jennings has 24 years of experience in education. She is currently the assistant principal at Cold Springs High School, and has also worked as a teacher and coach at Fairview Middle and Fairview High.

“I am passionate about high-quality classroom instruction, athletics and fostering student involvement in school activities, and I believe that every student should feel connected and engaged,” said Jennings. “I look forward to the future of Good Hope High School and am proud to be part of such a strong and supportive community. “

Strane is set to be the next principal of Welti Elementary. He is replacing Gina Webb, who is also retiring. He has over a decade of experience in education, proudly serving the Fairview community. Strane is currently the assistant principal at Fairview Elementary.

“It is an honor to join the Welti Elementary Family,” said Strane. “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead, serve and grow alongside this incredible community.”

Pending board approval, Jennings and Strane will officially begin their new roles on July 1, 2025.
