Obituary: Jo Helen Wilson

Jo Helen Morris Wilson, 92, of Cullman passed away peacefully from this earth into the glory of the Lord May 26, 2025. She died at home surrounded by loving family and caregivers. Jo was born July 7, 1932, the second child of Roy and Florence Morris.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Frank and Ernest, sister, Catherine, husband of almost 70 years, Bill Wilson and a grandson Curt Wilson.

She is survived by sons, Jim (Bonnie) Wilson, Mark (Tobi) Wilson; grandchildren, Kayla (Mike) Zagorsky, Luke Wilson, Jessica King, Hobie (Jaimi) Wilson and a great grandson, Briggs Wilson.

Jo and Bill were members at 7th Street Baptist Church. During their lifetime together, they owned and worked side by side in several businesses, teaching their sons the value of hard work, common sense, intelligent business practices and integrity. Jo was very creative, making ceramics, needlepoint and cross stitch pieces that family and friends treasure. When Bill and Jo retired, they “PLAYED” together, and with their grandchildren, who called them Paw-Paw and Jo-Jo. They Especially enjoyed time spent on the beach at their Fort Walton, Florida condominium.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home; funeral services following at 11 a.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Sawyer officiating. Burial at Cullman Memory Gardens.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Jo’s long time home caregivers, Kerrie Wigley, Kim Timmons and Amanda Ford, and to all the Hospice Caregivers who so faithfully and lovingly attended her.
