MONTGOMERY, Ala. –  Dr. Nicole Wadsworth officially launched her campaign for lieutenant governor of Alabama on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at a packed event at her campaign headquarters in Montgomery, according to a media release from her campaign.

Supporters, community leaders and members of the press gathered to hear Wadsworth, a Republican, share her “bold, Alabama-first vision rooted in economic growth, workforce development, safer communities, rural health care access and conservative values.”

“Every Alabamian deserves the opportunity to have a good job without having to leave the place they call home,” Wadsworth said. “We must strengthen workforce development so every Alabamian – from the high school student to the veteran – has a clear path to a good paying job.”

From the release: “A nationally recognized economic developer and conservative leader, Dr. Wadsworth has visited all 67 counties in Alabama more than 25 times, bringing a hands-on approach to revitalizing local economies and supporting small businesses. Her priorities include business recruitment and retention, statewide infrastructure improvements, the expansion of telehealth in rural areas, a quality and skilled workforce, defending the unborn, promoting public safety, and fostering a business climate that cuts red tape for job creators and positions Alabama for growth.”

“We must ensure that every community has a seat of the table. That means working together businesses, educators, law enforcement, local leaders and citizens – to build an Alabama that works for us all,” she said.

Wadsworth also thanked her husband, Rep. Tim Wadsworth, R-Arley, for his support and service, noting their shared commitment to family, faith and public service. “Together, they are raising their college-aged son and daughter with the values of integrity, discipline, and hard work.”

“The campaign invites Alabamians across our state to get involved and help build a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Alabama. #Our67”

The Alabama Statewide Primary Election will be May 19, 2026. The Primary Runoff Election will be June 16, 2026, and the General Election will be Nov. 3, 2026.
