Funeral services for James Bufford Strawbridge, 81, of Bremen will be 11 a.m. Wednesday May 21st at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow the service at Cullman City cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday May 20th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hanceville Funeral Home.
Mr. Strawbridge was born May 7, 1944, in Cullman, Alabama. He passed away May 16, 2025, at his residence in Bremen, Alabama.
Mr. Strawbridge is survived by his wife of 56 years Shirley Boone Strawbridge; children, Edna Hayes (Robert “Buddy”), Jamie Miller (late husband Lewis Miller), Julie Strawbridge, Mitchell Lloyd Strawbridge (Beth), Joe Strawbridge (Mary); grandchildren, Derick Hayes, James Pearson, Robbie Spires, Cody Strawbridge, Cory Strawbridge, Tori Whaley (Miles), Autumn Creek (Kody), Payton Keen (Benji), Zoe Arnold (Jesse), Tess Cook (David), Ashley Childress, Emily Childress, Jarrett Cole, Justin Cole, Demarki Miller, Dameir Sirmans, Edward Hayes, Stephaine White (Al), Beth Allred (Kendall); 25 Great Grandchildren; 3 Great-Great Grandchildren; sister, Gertrude Sellers; brother, Charlie Strawbridge (Nell); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Strawbridge was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Strawbridge; mother, Earlie Mae Hutchins Strawbridge; sisters, Vedmar Poodry (Richard), Vida Mae Duke (Gay), Stella Pearl Curvin (J.R.), Ardie LeCompt (Curly); brother, Mitchell Strawbridge (Kathy); great grandson, William Hayes; and several nieces and nephews.
